Last march my daughter Amber was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma . She was an absolute trooper as she went through chemotherapy and radiation treatments. While she was sick she was focused on getting done with her treatments and healing. All of her cancer is now gone and she is working through some of the emotional issues. Her art work has been a great help to help her work through things. As a mom I love everything she creates, but I thought these pieces may help inspire someone else.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-LAV8d-9LxAQ/TrLtVe6KpAI/AAAAAAAAABk/jE0sDX2dSZA/s1600-h/IMG_0678%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0678" border="0" alt="IMG_0678" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-aPNvDzTMwkk/TrLtXKfSwSI/AAAAAAAAABs/Dmt-Ob7JmfA/IMG_0678_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184"></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-WdeX0MhQ4PY/TrLtXp-QYSI/AAAAAAAAAB0/_nUaFSzeNzU/s1600-h/IMG_0675%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0675" border="0" alt="IMG_0675" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-iLXxFqJH_Cc/TrLtYJ8a4kI/AAAAAAAAAB8/9S-tpjFRdK4/IMG_0675_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184"></a></p> <p> </p> <p>This is a picture that represents all the shots she had to take. She said it took a lot of needles but you had to have each one to move forward. This picture is made using straight pins poking up through the canvas to make an arrow. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-AtaYmTzMq7w/TrLtYy1SKqI/AAAAAAAAACE/741fSJxx6xI/s1600-h/IMG_0680%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0680" border="0" alt="IMG_0680" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-briTvivCW5k/TrLtZH_ECdI/AAAAAAAAACM/bEhdpbmip7k/IMG_0680_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184"></a></p> <p>This is a picture of black swirls. Amber put something in the paint to make it 3D. On the very top of the ridges she put glow in the dark paint. In this painting she expressed the thought that even in the dark mixed up parts of life there is a light of hope. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-KaSeZZrs30A/TrLtaCbljFI/AAAAAAAAACU/1hM_IQemMO4/s1600-h/IMG_0682%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0682" border="0" alt="IMG_0682" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-xW-tX5Ei6UA/TrLtabursgI/AAAAAAAAACc/gliLEqrVTk4/IMG_0682_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184"> </a> <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-oNVEvYuP3KI/TrLta9hRA-I/AAAAAAAAACk/SEJdfDRnnqI/s1600-h/IMG_0597%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0597" border="0" alt="IMG_0597" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-5EzWZIC_EtM/TrLtbGf3i0I/AAAAAAAAACs/0YijDYHGPgc/IMG_0597_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="184" height="244"></a> <p>It takes all the parts of your life to make something beautiful.</p> Debbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08418359776775252601noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3756899534377926928.post-86729255823903014122011-11-02T16:57:00.001-07:002011-11-02T16:57:14.493-07:00Crock pot soup<p>Hi, I found a great recipe on pinterest.com</p> <p> </p> <p>Crock pot soup</p> <p>1 can of rotel</p> <p>1 can of corn</p> <p>1 can of black beans ( drained and rinsed)</p> <p>2 frozen chicken breast</p> <p>8oz of cream cheese</p> <p>1 package of dry ranch dressing mix</p> <p>1t cumin</p> <p>1t onion powder</p> <p>1t chili powder</p> <p>I also added I can of pinto beans (drained and rinsed)</p> <p>Put all the ingredients in the crock pot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.</p> <p> </p> <p>This was so easy and so yummy.</p> Debbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08418359776775252601noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3756899534377926928.post-60240330886623675142011-10-26T18:17:00.001-07:002011-10-26T18:17:46.465-07:00Water bottles<p>Water bottles for Emily’s lunch. </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-2i5LtsV5cB0/TqixOAdCiFI/AAAAAAAAABI/ywJbdk7qxGc/s1600-h/IMG_0474%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0474" border="0" alt="IMG_0474" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-iwbY1L5sPT0/TqixOXuP5AI/AAAAAAAAABQ/rpoHCSC6byc/IMG_0474_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184"></a></p> Debbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08418359776775252601noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3756899534377926928.post-55225111357145992842011-10-16T17:33:00.001-07:002011-10-16T17:33:24.934-07:00Snacks for the Homecoming dance<p><font size="4"><strong>Sugar marshmallow skewers</strong></font></p> <p>Ingredients: <br>Colored sugar<br>marshmallows<br>toothpicks<br>wooden skewers<br>bowl of water<br>wax paper<br>cooking spray<br>fold over sandwich bags<br>curling ribbon </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-mvrbS5u7Nr8/Tpt3za8px4I/AAAAAAAAAAY/PprOIP7k5Xw/s1600-h/IMG_0464%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0464" border="0" alt="IMG_0464" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-CXTeYPhgiIQ/Tpt3zgARNXI/AAAAAAAAAAg/vVodcUTov-E/IMG_0464_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184"></a><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-0m8zkxCpnxk/Tpt30KZk66I/AAAAAAAAAAo/cGQxCaFqcGM/s1600-h/IMG_0466%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0466" border="0" alt="IMG_0466" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-hywAVolnd74/Tpt30e45j5I/AAAAAAAAAAw/rRRnZCIlUeY/IMG_0466_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184"></a><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-foRFtZsyFVk/Tpt30-Qri3I/AAAAAAAAAA4/-Vs1hMAvc1g/s1600-h/IMG_0467%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0467" border="0" alt="IMG_0467" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-9ifGYdJmO5o/Tpt31OOZZwI/AAAAAAAAABA/euwEi7VzFb8/IMG_0467_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184"></a></p> <p>This was so easy. Put a marshmallow on a toothpick and dip it into the water. Shake off any extra water then dip the marshmallow in the colored sugar. Put the marshmallow onto wax paper to dry. Once dry simply spray the wooden skewer with cooking spray and slide the marshmallows on. cut the fold on the sandwich bag to make the bag longer. Place the skewer in the bag and tie with the ribbon.</p> <p>The inspiration for this snack came from <a href="http://www.thedecoratedcookieblog.com/2011/04/sparkly-rainbow-marshmallow-kabobs.html" target="_blank">The decorated cookie</a>.</p> <p>I wanted to do these in the school colors so I made my own colored sugar. Put regular sugar into a plastic cut or bowl. Add a few drops of food coloring and stir. Add a few drops of food coloring at a time until you get the color you want. Then put on a regular plate or a paper plate to dry. I like to use a plastic cup and a paper plate so I can just throw them away.</p> Debbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08418359776775252601noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3756899534377926928.post-7079936783288606902011-10-08T05:55:00.000-07:002011-10-08T05:58:00.904-07:00HeyHey I love blogs, so I thought lets give it a try.
